film shooting wedding photography

I’ve got an offer from a young couple from La to shoot their wedding on film.For the wedding destination, they picked a beautiful place on the Elba island in Italy. The civil ceremony was taken in an old family house where the bride spent her summer vacations with her family when she was younger. It was an awesome experience shooting on film after a long time. For the wedding shooting, i used a Nikon F5. Shooting on film has its special charm… I have sent negatives to studio Carmencita in Spain. I was very happy with their final product. Scans were sent by we transfer. Those pictures have a really special vibe to them that I really like. After fifteen years of shooting exclusively on digital cameras, working with film was a revelation. It made me fall in love with the process of making photos. Shooting film heightened the sensation of being focused in the moment, which is at the heart of what photography is about. I also noticed a difference in reactions from the people I was photographing. Subjects had become so used to seeing their photos on the back of my camera. When they were unable to see themselves right away, they seemed more interested and involved. They seemed to have more confidence in themselves as well as me, and I feel my portrait work became stronger. It’s a big difference shooting on film vs digital photography. Because of the limit of 36 shots that you have in one film roll, you become more careful in the right moments during the wedding day. I can hardly wait to receive the final results – the wedding book. Which will be made on fine art matt paper. I have decided to add shooting on film to my wedding offers.
