An Engagement Session in New York — On the Brooklyn Bridge
I was pleasantly surprised when Chelsea reached out, asking if she and her partner could do an engagement shoot in Manhattan. As it happened, I was already in New York that October, and I said yes without hesitation. Together we created a set of images on the Brooklyn Bridge — a place that quietly connects two people just as much as it connects two boroughs.
There’s something powerful about the Brooklyn Bridge as a location. It links Manhattan and Brooklyn, and every day it carries an endless stream of different people across it — locals, tourists, dreamers, all moving in different directions. As a backdrop for an engagement session, that constant motion becomes part of the story.
While we were shooting, passersby stopped to congratulate the couple, some glancing over curiously, trying to figure out what exactly we were doing. That’s New York, though — you can walk into a scene like this on almost any corner, and yet no one really stops to make a fuss. People notice, smile, and keep walking. It’s a city that makes space for a couple’s moment without ever making it feel staged.
