Manhattan wedding
this is a Manhattan wedding story . On the recommendation of a Californian couple whose wedding I shot a year ago, and almost ten months prior to the wedding that took place in November 2017 in New York City itself, the bride to be contacted me to photo-shoot the happy day. To be more precise, the wedding ceremony took place at the City Hall where about 400 weddings are performed on daily basis; therefore, it is quite an unusual spot to give your wedding vows. However, the couple being true New Yorkers wanted their wedding to take place exactly there.
On the day of the Manhattan wedding, I met Caitlin, Kristopher, and their closest friends at their Manhattan apartment and then we went to the venue where the wedding took place. The entire wedding ceremony was over in merely seven minutes or so and afterwards, the newlywed couple and I took a little walk around the enchanting autumn coloured New York City. The chemistry was there from the very beginning, in other words, we clicked instantly. They wanted their wedding album to be different, nonconventional and to portray spontaneous moments of the joyful day. The busy streets of Manhattan and simply the scenery of the city offered plenty of wonderful opportunities to capture the lovely couple and their love for each other. The bride looked graceful in her slick lacy wedding dress that fit her perfectly and the groom could not have looked more proud and happy. On one hand, the elegance of the couple and the gentleness of the bride crashed with the everyday New York streets hustle and bustle, and on the other, they fit perfectly into the New York busy life providing us with the most amazing wedding photos.
The day after, the wedding reception took place at the remarkable Gramercy Park hotel in Manhattan. The place was quite the opposite of the ceremony location: it was richly and tastefully decorated with an amazing lighting; everything came together beautifully and the atmosphere was pure delight. People were dancing, laughing having a wonderful time – the photos almost took themselves.
I am extremely grateful to have been a part of this wedding story. I shall always remember it fondly. Thank you Caitlin and Kristopher, I wish you all the best. Here you can see the story from the second day.
