A Ljubljana Castle Wedding and a Party Above the City

Bride and groom chose to celebrate their wedding day in the heart of Slovenia’s capital, and Ljubljana showed itself at its very best.

An Intimate Wedding Ceremony at Ljubljana Castle

The day began with a wedding ceremony at Ljubljana Castle, surrounded only by the couple’s closest family. High above the rooftops of the city, the castle offers a setting that is both historic and wonderfully intimate. With just a small circle of loved ones present, every look, every smile and every tear felt even more personal.
After the ceremony, we all sat down to a truly excellent lunch, with time to relax, talk and enjoy the moment before the next part of the day.

An Urban Wedding Photo Session in Ljubljana’s Old Town

After lunch, the couple and I headed down into Ljubljana’s Old Town for their photo session. The streets were full of tourists, yet the session was completely relaxed, and the two of them clearly enjoyed their brand-new roles as bride and groom. Visitors greeted the newlyweds in all sorts of languages, which only added to the cheerful atmosphere.
The old part of Ljubljana is full of hidden corners that are perfect for urban wedding photography: narrow cobbled streets, quiet courtyards, old doorways and bridges over the Ljubljanica river. You only need to step a few metres away from the crowds to find a spot that feels like it belongs to the couple alone.

A Wedding Party at Nebo with a View over Ljubljana

In the evening we moved to Nebo, where the couple welcomed their friends and the real wedding party began. With a fantastic live band and a stunning view over Ljubljana at night, it was a celebration to remember, and the dancing went on until the early morning hours.
