At our first meeting, they told me honestly that they don’t really like being photographed. That’s when I knew their wedding would be something special. Many couples feel the same way, so I suggested a simple solution: a short, relaxed wedding photo session with no long posing. Just the two of them, their day, and the right light.
The Ceremony at Švicarija in Tivoli Park
The ceremony took place at Švicarija in Tivoli Park, one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Ljubljana. The restored historic building, surrounded by greenery, has an atmosphere that is elegant yet relaxed. The soft natural light filtering through the trees of Tivoli is made for wedding photos that feel natural and timeless. During the ceremony I stayed in the background, capturing honest moments: glances, smiles and emotions that don’t need directing.
LJUBLJANA Wedding Photography in Old Town
After the ceremony, we drove to Ljubljana’s Old Town, where every corner, in the right light, can become a stunning wedding photo. Cobbled streets, historic facades, bridges over the Ljubljanica river and quiet passageways make the perfect backdrop for a short, spontaneous walk.
Since the couple didn’t want a long session, we planned the shoot as an easy stroll. No complicated poses, just a few gentle directions and plenty of room for their natural reactions. The result is a set of photos where they truly recognise themselves, because the images were taken when they had forgotten about the camera.
Wedding Photos at the NUK Library
The bride’s special wish was to visit the National and University Library (NUK), one of the most recognisable buildings by architect Jože Plečnik. Its striking architecture, the play of light and shadow and its distinctive materials gave the photos an almost cinematic character. Personal locations like this add a story to wedding photos that belongs only to the couple.
